Photobiomodulation applied to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd): a review

Photobiomodulation is the use of visible and infrared light through emitting diodes - LED without thermal cytotoxic reactions.It was carried out a literature review with this studyto understand photobiomodulation applied to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD.It survey in January 2023, SciELO, Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline Google Scholar databases. With descriptors “Low-level therapy” AND “Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease” “Phototherapy” English “Pulmonary Disease, Obstructive” “Phototherapy”. It selected 04 papers after applying inclusion criteria. From analysis data, it possible verify that 50% said improved functional capacity muscles lower limbs patients COPD.In addition, 25% studies demonstrated improvement ventilatory mechanics elastance, restoration balance between pro-inflammatory anti-inflammatory cytokines, reduction collagen deposition airways decrease interstitial tissue thickening. We conclude an effective, low-cost, easy-to-adhesion promising resource rehabilitation process COPD, for reversing evolutionary processes disease improving functionality.
